August 2026 Broadstairs Folk Week Goths by the sea

Another busy weekend, this time dancing at Broadstairs Folk Festival. It was a very warm day, but thankfully there was a sea breeze. 

It was Samantha's first time playing out with us and she was brilliant! Adding the wonderful tones of her mandolin to Simon's accordion and Emma's whistle playing-along with the drums the band sounded wonderful.

We danced along the seafront and at the bandstand with lots of other great sides, entertaining the crowds. After an ice cream break (well it had to be done!) we joined the parade through the town looking mean and moody (goth style) occasionally rushing into the crowd to give them a scare!

A few us ended the day with a paddle in the sea and a well deserved bag of chips.
